The monograph presents a comprehensive analysis of the domestic (Russian pre-revolutionary, Soviet and post-Soviet) historiography of the Tsushima battle on May 14-15, 1905. The focus is on three main discussion problems on which Russian memoirists and historians have been arguing for more than a hundred years: material factors of the Tsushima battle, the personality of the commander of the 2nd Pacific squadron of Vice Admiral Z. P. Rozhestvensky and the role of the human factor. The work also shows the formation of a source base, analyzed the most characteristic trends in modern research. A new periodization of the Russian historiography of the Tsushima theme has been proposed.
