The results of ball lightning observations were analyzed, on the basis of which its physical image was compiled. Information related to the processes occurring in excited air and related to various aspects of the nature of this phenomenon is presented: methods of storing internal energy, the nature of heat release processes, the structure and shape of ball lightning, electrical phenomena in ball lightning and its glow. The popular form analyzes other natural phenomena related to ball lightning or capable of causing its occurrence. Analogs of ball lightning are considered.
