General properties of fractal systems are presented. An overview of growth and evolution models of fractal clusters composed of bound particulate matter is given. Properties of fractal clusters are considered, methods of their diagnostics and results of experimental researches are presented. Aerogels and other porous substances composed of fractal clusters have been studied. Information on fractal clusters is used to analyze ball lightning problems.
