The regularities of the teaching on metal corrosion and the basics of corrosion protection technology are presented. Biogenic and soil corrosion, high-temperature oxidation of metals, pitting and intergranular corrosion, corrosion cracking, the effect of radiation and stray currents are considered. Resistance of main groups of metal structural materials, including new alloys used in chemical, nuclear, power and other industries is described.
