"A Brief Outline of History and Description of Nizhny Novgorod" by Nikola Khramtsovsky was first published in 1857 (I part) and 1859 (II part). This is a unique monument of Nizhny Novgorod local history. A connoisseur of the past of the Nizhny Novgorod land, a local historian and historian N.I. Khramtsovsky systematized and brought together the richest information that he obtained bit by bit from a huge amount of archival materials and historical research. As an addition to the book, an essay by A. V. Ekzemplyarsky "Suzdal-Nizhny Novgorod Grand Duchy" is included.
