The common fate of the countries of Central and Eastern Europe - Hungary, the Czech Republic, Slovakia and Poland - not for the first time in history pushes them to try to jointly solve common problems. Two decades ago, the Visegrad Group was created - an informal association of four countries in the region in order to coordinate actions towards integration into the European Union. The monograph, prepared at the Institute of Europe of the Russian Academy of Sciences within the framework of the large project "The Old World - New Times," deeply investigated the political and socio-economic aspects of the development of the countries of Visegrad Europe, analyzed the pros and cons of the participation of countries in European integration processes. Particular attention in the book is paid to the development of relations between the countries of the region and Russia. The book is recommended to everyone who, one way or another, is interested in the current situation of the countries of the region of Central-Eastern Europe.
