The monograph on a wide source material for the first time in Russian historiography explores the course, driving forces and mechanisms of creating the Ukrainian nation in the key period for this process - the 1920s-1930s. Through the prism of the Ukrainian national movement, the phenomenon of Ukrainian nationalism, its ideological and worldview orientation are analyzed, the relationship between Ukrainian, Russian and Soviet national identities is considered.
