The use of an optical wavelength range instead of radio waves in the location allows many times to increase the accuracy of determining the range and angular coordinates of the detected objects. The proposed brochure, based on materials from open domestic and foreign literature, briefly describes some optical locators (laser locators), provides their block diagrams and some technical characteristics. The principle of operation of the main nodes of optical locators is explained, possible ways of building new optical location systems are considered. The brochure is intended for military engineers, students of higher and secondary military schools, as well as for a wide range of readers interested in the latest achievements of science and technology.
