In the book, the author covers those issues that are undoubtedly interesting to everyone: what origin are our names, patronymics, surnames, what is their history, is it possible to find out why this city has such a name or why this river is called so, and not otherwise, how are proper and common names interrelated, what is the possibility of their mutual transition. As an appendix to the book, the author gives a "namesake" with relevant comments.
