May 14-15, 1988 in the ancient Russian city of Borovsk, the First All-Union Public Fedorov Readings were held. The initiator and leader of the readings was the "Man and Space" section of the DOSAAF Cosmonautics Committee of the USSR with the participation of party and Soviet regional organizations, as well as the Borovsky branch of VOOPIiK. The readings attracted the attention of numerous representatives of the creative and technical intelligentsia of the country, people of various professions and beliefs.
