We are pleased to present to the reader the second volume of works on pathology by Professor I.V. Popov, which includes his fundamental study "The Personality and Teachings of Blessed Augustine." I.V. Popov worked on this monograph for several years and graduated from it in draft in 1914. In 1916, the study was published; on January 31, 1917, the Council of the Moscow Theological Academy nominated this work for the prize of Metropolitan Makarii of Moscow, which was awarded to I.V. Popov on March 6. On May 7 of the same year, he successfully defended his work as a doctoral dissertation at the St. Petersburg Theological Academy.
