The monograph presents a wide panorama of the development of Japanese industry over more than half a century. The features of its evolution at various stages are shown, the classification of enterprises according to the combination of qualitative and quantitative characteristics is given. The example of industrial policy and small business support policy shows the mechanism of state regulation of industrial development. Peculiarities of relations between the state and business in Japan, as well as specific forms of business organization are considered.
