The book describes the role that the tsarist government gave to Kazakhstan in the system of its foreign policy in Asia, considered the policy of Russia in Kazakhstan in the XVI-XVIII centuries. It also examined the internal and foreign policies of the Kazakh khanates and the relations between their rulers, the essence of the contradiction of various ruling groups in the Kazakh steppe, the reasons and goals that prompted Russia and the Kazakh khanates to strengthen ties.
