The book is devoted to the political history of Kalmyks since their appearance in the steppes of the Northern Caspian in the second third of the 17th century. The events of the internal political life of Kalmyk society are considered in detail. An important role is also played by the study of Russian-Kalmyk relations, which largely determined the political history of Eastern Europe.
