During the selection, the compiler was guided by the task of presenting all the main types of epics of each subject-thematic cycle and, thus, introducing local, regional epic traditions. At the same time, the compiler sought to give the best ideological and artistic texts that have become classical. Therefore, the collection contains possibly wider records made by the largest masters of epic storytelling.
