Roman Pamuka - his fourth in a row - was written in 1985-1989, published in 1990. A year later, the famous Turkish film director O. Cavour made a film based on the book (later the Pamukov novels "New Life," 1994, and "They Call Me Red," 1998, which became unique bestsellers in Turkey). Since the "Black Book" - if we take only one of the levels of the narrative - is a detective story ("the first Turkish detective novel," as noted at the very end), then I will not set out the plot, trace the twists and turns of the intricate intrigue and anticipate the criminal denouement.
