As in other editions of this series dedicated to people of art, the creative path of the wonderful Russian landscape painter Levitan is presented in the form of a free fiction narrative. The book contains extensive archival material, some of which is published for the first time. The artist's creative biography is given against the background of the most important social and artistic events that took place in Russia and the end of the 19th century. A special place is given in the book to Chekhov's remarkable friendship with Levitan. The book is equipped with color and tone illustrations.
