Relying on new approaches different from those adopted in Soviet times, the author talks about the organizational formation of domestic counterintelligence, which took place in a difficult military and domestic political situation - during the First World and Civil Wars and two revolutions of 1917 - February and October. The work is based on archival documents, most of which are being introduced into scientific circulation for the first time. The book is addressed to everyone interested in Russian history.
