The main applied directions of finite field theory in digital telecommunications are systematically described. The main focus is on the relationship of theoretical aspects with practical methods for applying finite fields. All the necessary formulas have been obtained that underlie the synthesis and analysis of devices for implementing the main applications of finite fields. Examples of use of the considered methods and their hardware implementation in real modern digital communication systems are given.
