From numerous documents of the Military Historical Archive of the World War relating to the East Prussian operation of 1914, the collection contains only those related to the activities of the Supreme Commander, headquarters of the North-Western Front and the armies that took part in the operation against East Prussia, and which collectively cover the operational activities of the Russian troops, up to and including the corps, from July 13 (26) (the beginning of the period preparatory for the war) to September 9 (22). The first department contains plans for the deployment of the army of the North-Western Front, approved in 1912 in case of war with Germany.
