This collection is dedicated to the 70th anniversary of the Department of Medieval Archeology of the Institute of Archeology of the Russian Academy of Sciences. The department is a direct heir to the sector of Slavic-Russian archeology, formed at the Institute in 1951. The articles of the collection reflect the scientific directions that its employees are currently developing, they were joined by archaeologists from other units of the IA RAS, including those who once worked in the sector, and colleagues from Tver and Ryazan.
