This two-volume book includes little-known and unknown even to the sophisticated reader works of the famous Russian spiritual writer S.A. Nilus (1862-1929), as a rule, not reprinted after the first lifetime publication. Letters from Sergei Alexandrovich and materials for his biography are highlighted in special sections, many of which are first extracted from the funds of domestic archives and rare publications of Russian emigration, for example, about Nilus's negative attitude towards Grigory Rasputin. Evidence is given that debunks the myths created by admirers of Rasputin that St. John of Kronstadt met and even blessed the "elder." In volume 2, his last book, Abbot Manuel, published in Kyiv in 1918, is published, the existence of which even experts still did not know.
