In 2009, this book was awarded the Yunus Nadi Prize (in the nomination "Social Sciences") by the authoritative newspaper Jumhuriyet in Turkey. Its author, Rasim Dirsehan Ors, is perhaps the first Turkish researcher to study relations between Turkey and Russia in the 1920s. through the prism of the Soviet press of that time. The book uses not only texts, but also various, unique photographs, cartoons and drawings from Soviet newspapers and magazines. The innovative approach allowed the Turkish author to talk in an exciting and accessible way about how two peoples, breaking centuries-old, often hostile, ideas about each other, were able to build new mutually beneficial relationships of friendship and support.
