Joseph Bakshtein is one of the most famous participants in the modern art process, not only domestic, but international: the organizer of several Moscow Biennials, director of the Institute of Contemporary Art Problems, curator and art critic, one of those who stood at the origins of the conceptualist movement. The book, composed of his texts of different years, written on different occasions, as well as fragments of interviews, forms a kind of portrait-collage, where the appearance of the hero looms not only against the background of the story to which he is highly involved, but also in a certain sense and by means of the artistic practices he proclaims.
