Machines rose from the ashes of atomic war. Here and there, they began to appear among the ruins of cities and villages. And the surviving population of the Earth, already no longer numerous, faced another direct threat of its total and final extermination. This life-and-death war was waged everywhere in a territory destroyed and scorched by fire for many years, and for many years this confrontation between people and machines was resolved with varying success on these battlefields.
