Hippocrates also wrote: "Medicine is addition and removal: taking away everything that is unnecessary, adding the missing." The entire XX century was marked by rapid flourishing and dominance of pharmacological (afferent) therapy. Thousands of drugs have been synthesized and synthesized. Advances in efferent therapy are much more modest. Only acute and chronic renal replacement therapy (hemodialysis, hemofiltration, hemodiafiltration) and afferent technologies (LDL apheresis, plasmapheresis, etc.) have acquired a more or less complete form.
