Thermomechanical processing (TMP) is now an important part of the production of many steel products. Understanding metallurgical processes arising from TMP, it is possible to change the microstructure of steel to obtain the necessary final properties of the product. Control of the microstructure at TMP can also lead to less variation in the final properties as well as the number of steps in the manufacturing process.
