The tutorial describes the design of modern lifting cranes (tower, gantry, bridge, caterpillar and pneumatic wheel). Basic information on components, assembly units, operating mechanisms and brakes, devices and safety devices of cranes is given. The technology of using lifting cranes for their intended purpose, methods of their safe technical operation are considered.
