This volume, which continues the series of catalogs of the Hermitage collections, is dedicated for the first time to the creative heritage of only one master - architect and draftsman Tom de Tomon. The Hermitage Collection gives the most complete picture of the versatility of the talent of the author of the most impressive St. Petersburg ensemble - the Exchange on Strelka Vasilyevsky Island. He appears not only as an architect, but also as a talented draftsman, engraver, and besides, as a person who can theorize, express his credo in writing. The main thing about Tomon's architecture has long been said, at the same time, many different particulars, primarily related to the master's graphics, especially engraving, were formulated for the first time. An attempt was made to rebuild all the known facts of Tomon's biography, relying on scattered, not previously united evidence.
