Ernst Nolte's book considers a number of aspects that turn over the usual, formulaic ideas about the Second World War and the period preceding it and caused the so-called "dispute of historians," but which are already of secondary importance for the problems of globalization. In addition, a careful attitude to facts that does not characterize Nolte as a kind of "German Fomenko" makes this book doubly interesting.
