Pyotr Andreevich Pavlenko was born on July 11 (June 26 - according to Art. Art.) 1899 in St. Petersburg, in the family of a petty official and teacher. In the late 1920s and early 1930s, he published the collections Asian Stories (1929), Istanbul and Turkey (1930), Anatolia (1932), Journey to Turkmenistan (1932), and the story Desert (1931). In the 1930s, Pavlenko was the editor-in-chief of the magazine "30 Days," the almanac "Friendship of Peoples." He was elected to the Board of the Union of Writers of the USSR. This edition presents the novel by P. A. Pavlenko "Happiness," which tells about the post-war period of the life of the village and front-line soldiers. For the novel "Happiness" P. A. Pavlenko was awarded the Stalin Prize of the first degree for 1948.
