If the Internet was an automobile, there would be a major worldwide recall to fix the problem of security. The model of car under scrutiny would be characterised by being open to anyone to drive with no central locking on the doors and no ignition key required to start the car. Also, the driver would need no driving licence to ‘press the pedal to the metal’ when driving on the Internet highway. How did we get to this situation?
