The purpose of this manual is to provide the basic skills necessary for the development of reliable software, to build a "bridge" between the often undeservedly forgotten works of the "patriarchs" and modern programming practice. The relevance of the problem of improving the reliability of the created software is shown. Basic definitions, factors affecting software reliability are given, principles and methods of reliable software construction are considered.
