There is an acute shortage of translations of the most important works of Arab-Christian literature in Russian science, and therefore the importance of this book can hardly be overestimated. At a high scientific level, it solves the long-overdue task of collecting together the significant works of Orthodox Arabs (Melkites) and not only gives a versatile idea of ​ ​ their written heritage and reflects certain aspects of their life, but also allows them to perceive their culture as an integral and original phenomenon. Each translation is accompanied by an introductory article and a grounded commentary, taking into account the latest scientific achievements.
