The purpose of the study is, on the basis of a comprehensive analysis of a significant array of sources, taking into account the achievements of domestic and European historiography, to recreate a comprehensive picture of the functioning of concentration camps in the occupied Soviet territories, which were one of the most important tools of Nazi policy, as well as an integral part of the entire concentration camp system of the Third Reich.
