The second edition of the textbook outlines the theoretical (thermodynamic and kinetic) foundations of metal refining in various aggregates, deoxidation, alloying and off-aggregate (ladle) steel processing. Various options of steel melting technology in oxygen converters, open-hearth and twin-bath furnaces and continuous-operation units are considered. Values of process parameters and formulas for their determination are given.
