Reprint of the book of the Leningrad writer about the life and feat of the Russian revolutionary Pyotr Petrovich Schmidt, one of the leaders of the Sevastopol uprising of 1905. The book traces the evolution of the hero from his participation in the creation of the "Union of Officers - Friends of the People" to the election of Sevastopol workers as a life deputy. Schmidt vows: "I will lay down my whole life for the interests of the workers and never cheat on them." Standing at the head of the revolutionary fleet, Schmidt was ready for the most decisive action as a military and political figure capable of leading the people: "Ahead I will see a young, renewed, happy Russia."
