For the first time in Russian historiography, the book gives a comprehensive picture of the situation and state of the church and the extensive network of church and secular Catholic organizations in Italy under the conditions of the fascist dictatorship. The evolution of the position of the church in relation to the main issues of the foreign and domestic policy of fascism, as well as the role of the Catholic subculture in the process of the crisis and collapse of the fascist regime, is considered.
