The purpose of the publication is to identify, as far as possible, the characteristic features of the national model of the world; as they are reflected in Russian fine art of the 18th-20th centuries. It would seem, which is simpler: by definition, all works of domestic art belong to Russian art. However, everything is far from so simple: not the whole picture, even if created by a domestic artist, becomes necessarily Russian in spirit, psychological mood, mindset. Therefore, we have to limit ourselves to such and only such features, according to which we can rightfully recognize, if not a comprehensive model of Russian space, but at least a mediocre embodiment of a national character.
