This volume includes the well-known works of prominent Czech science fiction writers of the 1920s and 1930s Karel Čapek "The War with the Salamanders" (1936) and Jan Weiss "The House of a Thousand Floors" (1929). Both novels severely denounce the anti-human essence of capitalist society and its ugly manifestations such as nationalism and fascism.
