The purpose, scope, classification, principle of operation and design of shield tunneling complexes and tunneling shields for the construction of mine workings of various purposes and the shape of the cross section are considered. A brief overview of the use of both Russian and foreign sewerage systems is presented. Contains their main process diagrams. Detailed characteristics of the boards are given.
