The work of Schmid, published by Isogiz in the translation of the artist A.N. Tikhomirov, is interesting because it illuminates the issues of ancient fresco, almost unaffected in our special literature, and especially encaustics (painting with hot mainly paints). At the same time, Schmid's work sheds light on the question of external murals of buildings associated with monumental propaganda, the need for which Lenin pointed out in his time in a conversation with Lunacharsky.
