The book includes unique documents from the largest archives in Moscow. The collection was based on materials from the Special Sector of the MK VKP (b) (information on the moods of Moscow workers, transcripts of closed meetings, directive letters, certificates, reports, etc.), documents from the Moscow City Executive Committee, special messages from state security agencies and the Ministry of Internal Affairs, memoirs, newspaper publications. In their totality, they recreate a wide panorama of Moscow's life at that time: the work of state authorities, the attitude of Muscovites to the most important events of the era, the dedication of the residents of the capital, who, in the most difficult conditions of the post-war devastation and the outbreak of the Cold War, revived the power of the Soviet state. The publication is dedicated to the 55th anniversary of the Victory of our people in the Great Patriotic War.
