The book is a brief anthology of Russian language jokes, built on the material collected by the author of Russian folklore, periodicals and fiction of the 19th - 20th centuries. For the convenience of the reader, an alphabetical order of bringing the material is adopted: at the beginning, articles are given where words are played to the letter A, then to other letters of the alphabet. For example, among the articles on the letter P is the article Gender, which includes examples: Painted sex (female) (Emil Meek); Previously, dresses were worn to the floor, and now - to the signs of gender; Dancing is the friction of two sexes on the third, etc. In cases where it is difficult to highlight a keyword or expression in a joke, examples are combined into groups - on a thematic basis (Absurd; Swearing; Epitaphs...) or on the technical technique of creating a joke (Word formation; Abbreviations...). The book may be of interest to the widest range of readers.
