The book is a translation of the second volume of the 11-volume series on microelectronics, written by major Japanese specialists. It is devoted to modern methods of development, manufacture and use of optoelectronic elements, computer memory devices, as well as devices for visual display of information. The physical principles of operation of these devices, their design implementation and practice of use in various systems are considered.
