"The Complete Collection of Historical Notes of Daiviet" is a state chronicle, the central monument of traditional historical thought of Vietnam. Volume 7 included the XVI-XVII chapters of the "Main Annals" of the source, describing the events of 1533-1599, which occurred at the beginning of a long period, traditionally called in Vietnamese historiography "The Struggle of the South and the North." At this time, the country was divided into independent principalities, which waged a fierce struggle among themselves. It describes the confrontation of the Mak dynasty, which established its power in the north of the country, and the grouping of its opponents entrenched in the south, which were nominally led by the emperors of the Later Le dynasty, but in fact - powerful Chua rulers from the Chin clan.
