His contribution to the history of world aviation is no less than the merits of Tupolev, Ilyushin, Lavochkin and Yakovlev - however, until now, the name of Vladimir Mikhailovich Myasishchev remains in the shadow of his illustrious colleagues. But the ideas and technical solutions he proposed are rightfully considered revolutionary. It was his design bureau that developed the first domestic intercontinental bomber M-4, the first supersonic strategic bomber M-50 and the world's first "space shuttle."
