Sometimes random fellow travelers are the same confessors. The main character confessed twice: to a mute and deaf tramp who hitchhiked, and to a priest who was in a hurry for lunch (guests had to come!..) The two helped him through his wife's betrayal and what happened after. Each in its own way...
