The book of the famous American astronomer Edwin Krapp differs from similar publications in that it opens to the reader not the mysterious world of complex astrological science, replete with "shackles of numbers and signs," but the miracle of "living astronomy," filled with images of ancient mythology, miracles of heavenly patronage of mankind. Deciphering cosmic messages to people was done by special "communications," which were called in each people and in each era in their own way: magicians, stargazers, shamans, astrologers, fortune-tellers, court astronomers.
