These lectures were given in the 2nd year of the Faculty of Mechanics and Mathematics of Moscow State University in the spring of 1966. V.I. Arnold is known for his clear presentation style, skillfully combining mathematical rigor and physical intuition, as well as a simple and intelligible teaching style. Arnold was one of the initiators of the separation of symplectic geometry as a separate discipline, had a great influence on the development of new areas of mathematics, publishing many textbooks.
